KPE Structure
As a limited partnership, the management of the business and affairs of KPE is performed by a general partner that is governed by a board of directors. KPE's general partner's board of directors is co-chaired by Henry R. Kravis and George R. Roberts, two of KKR's founders. A majority of the members on the board of directors are independent directors.
KPE invests its capital as the sole limited partner of KKR PEI Investments, L.P., which is another Guernsey limited partnership that we refer to as the Investment Partnership. Investments are made by the Investment Partnership pursuant to KPE's investment policies and procedures, which among other things, generally requires the review and approval of KKR's Investment Committee.
